[English below] ’S e oidhche meadhan an t-samhraidh
a th’ ann, agus gun teagamh tha sgeul ri innse. Eadar am blàr a tha a’ dol eadar Rìgh is Banrigh nan sìdhichean, na leannain air chall sa choille and na cleasaichean gun dreuchd a tha a’ ruith thairis air an dealbh-chluich fhèin, tha amadanachd gu leòr ri faighinn san sgeul ainmeil èibhinn seo le Shakespeare air a chur dhan Ghàidhlig.

Far comhair riochdaichear draoidheachd, mì-mhodh, cleasan is gaol le cuideachadh o sheann bhròig, pocan plastaig agus breige! Cuir an cois sin giùlan iongantach is comasach Dhaibhidh Walker san dealbh, is chan eil a leithid ri fhaighinn ann an dràma Ghàidhlig. Tha an dealbh-chluich seo ga cur air adhart leis an sgioba a fhuair moladh o sgrùdairean airson MacBheatha air àrd-ùrlar Fèis Dhùn Èideann, agus tha measgachadh innte de chainnt bheairteach bhàrdail Shakespeare is de sgrìobhadh eagnaidh on là an diugh a bheir fìor lasgan air luchd-èisteachd.

It’s midsummer night and there’s definitely a tale to tell. What with the war between the King and Queen of the fairies, the lovers lost in the woods and the amateur actors rehearsing their play – there is some buffoonery to be had in this famously funny Shakespeare tale in Gaelic.

We are treated to a performance of magic, mischief, trickery and love with the help of an old boot, plastic bag and brick! Combine that with the wonderful ad hoc performance talents of Daibhidh Walker and this show is a unique experience in Gaelic theatre. Coming from the critically acclaimed team who brought MacBheatha to the Edinburgh Festival stage, this play mixes the rich poetic language of Shakespeare with some perfectly scripted contemporary belly laughs.
